Public guided tours

Mondays at 2 p.m. and on the 1st Sunday of the month at 11 a.m.

Explore what political imprisonment meant in the GDR. On a tour of the original Stasi remand prison, you will learn how the state's repressive apparatus tried to eliminate its political opponents. In the former office of the Dresden Stasi chief, experience how the security service worked with the help of vivid recordings. The former Soviet occupation forces used the complex as a prison. In the cellar, the barren cells of the Soviet secret service tell of the fates of the prisoners, which often led to the Gulag.
